LMGI AWARDS 2016

The night of April 23, 2016 was the 3rd Annual LMGI Awards that I had the opportunity to be apart of. As a new member of the Local 399 Teamster Union I felt like I belonged more, not gonna lie. It was a fantastic evening with our celebrity guest Jeff Goldblum and Tony Revolori. To make things more exciting for myself I had he chance to hang out with Tony and his date the whole night, they were great. The awards was a wonderful experience to see the inspirational and much more experienced Location Professionals appreciated for there tremendous work . The Location Manager, Janice Polley’s story and career was encouraging for females in the industry like myself. The Game of Thrones locations managers , Robert Boake and Tate Araez won the award for Outstanding Locations in a Period TV Series that shared his acceptance speech. It gave a scope view of how much time away some Location Professionals are away from their families all year long that they sacrifice for their careers….passions. The movie Sicario won the Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Film. The Location Mananger , S.Todd Christensen had my favorite acceptance speech of the night that brought a tear to his eye and even mines. He brought up about how the lives are effecting when using someones property that really needs the money. The community if effected in good ways and bring prosperity to some. The point he brought up is why I really enjoy doing Locations, I feel like I am helping the community.

January 2016

IMG_8373I haven’t been the best with updating my website that I created in 2014. Time flies and a lot of experience can accumulate over 2 years. Since 2 years ago when I last posted, I have been staying busy in the entertainment industry in production and location scouting/managing. Growing and learning the industry’s shortcuts and best practices, I have also been exploring more personally. Since I fist made this website, I was able to hike the Salkantey Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru last year, and this past year visited Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. I explored the most wondrous places that are fresh in my mind and would love to have some sort of production shoot there.

Location hunting in LA

I had an assignment to find locations to film something for the SyFy network, I won’t post details. But it was an exciting challenge for myself. I enjoy exploring and taking photos anyways, I’m excited to do it for an awesome network like SyFy.  I did much research for a classroom, long hallways, a living room set, and wide open indoor spaces..I was ALL over LA county from Santa Monica to Pasadena and all the little cities within.. I’ll share a few cool shots I was able to explore.

Discovery Channel Locations

“How Do They Do It?” the show on Discovery Channel that needed to be shot all over California. The locations from the diverse scenes all over California needed a good locations manager/ scout to make sure the show was done with a magnificent location to explain each episode easily & creatively. The film crew traveled from San Francisco, Monterey, San Jose, Santa Monica, Venice, Palm Springs, Glamis Dunes, and many other locations.  Attached are a few shots from the Discovery Channel, “How Do They Do It?”
